village of hope burkina faso

Since the summer of 2003, teams have worked alongside the local Burkinabe to develop and expand the Village of Hope, which is a three phase project.

Phase I can accommodate 360 children and includes an elementary school, boys' and girls' dorms, shower and bathroom facilities, a dining hall, a church, a medical clinic, an administration building, and team and staff accommodations.

Phase II will add secondary and vocational schools. The vision for Phase III is a Christian University.

The Village of Hope, situated just outside of the capitol city of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, is a place where impoverished and orphaned children from surrounding rural villages come to live and learn during the school year.

The vision of our project partners, Pastor Michel and Lydia Ouedraogo, was to positively change the lives of children by providing schooling and by sharing the love and teachings of Christ. True to its name, the Village of Hope offers these children hope for the future and an opportunity to change their communities as they grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.
